Industrial Welding and Cutting Services

Welding and cutting support for industrial and offshore projects

TT-NDT provides industrial welding services for repair, modification, installation and maintenance work on industrial and offshore assets. The scope can include repair welding, component removal, bracket and support installation, pipework changes and other metalwork required during maintenance or modification projects.

For work at height or in difficult-access locations, rope access can position the team directly at the work area without relying on large temporary access structures. This approach can support offshore welding and other hot-work tasks where access, coordination and site conditions must be planned together.

What are welding and cutting services?

Welding and cutting work covers joining, repairing, modifying or removing metal components as part of industrial maintenance, installation and repair scopes. Typical tasks include structural repair, bracket installation, pipework modification, removal of damaged sections and fabrication support.

Thermal cutting services are used when metal sections, supports or damaged components need to be removed or prepared as part of an agreed work scope.

Where access is limited, rope access welding can reduce dependence on scaffolding or lifting equipment by positioning personnel at the work area. Access method, hot-work controls, ventilation, surrounding equipment and coordination with other site activities are considered during planning.

Wear and damage

Industrial and offshore assets are exposed to corrosion, vibration, mechanical wear, impact, fatigue and operational stress. Components may therefore require repair, replacement or modification during their service life.

Controlled execution

Welding and cutting may be required during shutdowns, offshore campaigns, urgent repairs and modification projects where access, hot-work controls and coordination with other site activities must be planned together.

Fewer temporary structures

Where the work area is difficult to reach, rope access can provide direct access for the required metalwork and reduce dependence on large temporary access structures.

How we conduct welding and cutting work

1. Scope and hot-work planning

The work starts with a review of the task, material, work location, access conditions and site safety requirements. Hot-work permits, isolation needs, fire prevention, ventilation and the access method are confirmed before work begins.

3. Completion and handover

After the work is completed, the area is checked and temporary access systems are removed. The client receives confirmation of the completed scope. Where inspection is required, it can be included as a separately agreed part of the handover.

2. Access and execution

If the work area is at height or otherwise difficult to access, rope access can be used to position the team at the required location. Welding or cutting is then carried out to the agreed scope while coordinating the work with surrounding site activities.

Where welding and cutting services are used?

Assets and structures

Welding and cutting work may be required on offshore platforms, production facilities, vessels, tanks, pipe racks, steel structures, industrial plants, bridges, towers and other assets where metalwork forms part of repair, maintenance or modification.

Types of project

Typical scopes include repair projects, structural modification, installation of brackets or supports, removal of damaged parts, pipework changes, maintenance campaigns and shutdown work. Rope access is particularly useful when the work area is high, offshore, inside a complex structure or otherwise difficult to reach by conventional access methods.

What you receive

The result is completed welding or cutting work delivered according to the agreed scope, access plan and site controls. Depending on the project, TT-NDT can support the work below.

This gives the client a practical way to complete metalwork in locations where access would otherwise require additional temporary structures.

  2. 02Component removal
  3. 03Structural modification
  4. 04Bracket installation

Why choose TT-NDT for welding and cutting?

TT-NDT combines rope access capability with industrial and offshore field work, allowing access planning and hot-work execution to be coordinated within the same project scope. The team plans around permits, fire prevention, dropped-object control, access limitations and nearby site activities.

This approach is suitable for one-time repairs, shutdown work, offshore campaigns and maintenance projects where welding or cutting is required in hard-to-reach locations.

Questions

Yes. Rope access can be used to position personnel for welding in difficult-access areas when the task, access method and hot-work controls are properly planned.

The required controls depend on the site and task, but planning may include hot-work permits, fire prevention, isolation of nearby hazards, ventilation, personal protective equipment, dropped-object control and monitoring of the work area.

Yes. Where inspection is required, completed welds or repaired areas can be checked after the work as a separately agreed part of the project scope.

Rope access is useful when welding or cutting is required at height, offshore, inside complex structures or in locations where scaffolding, platforms or lifting equipment are impractical.
